It's Medical Mondays and I'm Feeling Good!

My self-inflicted grounded has worked! It is amazing how much a person can get done when they force themselves to do it. In my case I had to shake things up and thought about what I normally do and then did just the opposite. It felt odd for a while, but I got the hang of it.

Feel like texting a friend or sending an email? I made a phone call instead. Thinking about what to pick up for dinner? Played my version of Chopped with my own pantry ingredients. Want some entertainment? Let the kids entertain me instead. Want to spend some money? Read a book about not spending money - that's a cure I won't forget. Taxes. Documents are ready and the highlighter didn't dry out. House? Spring cleaned and uncluttered. All those annoying appointments that never get made - made.

It has been a productive week and has given me plenty to write about. But there will be time enough for that later. Right now it is time for another edition of Medical Mondays!

I hope you'll all take a quick second to link up your blog with us!

  1. Thanks for stopping by my blog! I am brand new (last month) to the blogging world so this is new! I ran across either your's or "Your Doctor's Wife" a few weeks ago and decided I needed to participate in Medical Monday! Thanks for hosting! I will definitely be taking some advice from your Moving Tips section very soon. I'm thinking Weekend Projects to slowly de-clutter/deep clean to make things go a little smoother...with some blogging accountability. Nice to "meet" you!

    1. Welcome to medical mondays! I have a feeling there are a whole group of us getting ready to move this summer and I just finished my first round of de-cluttering this past week. It feels so good to look around and know when it comes to box the stuff up it won't be hard at all. I still don't like moving though:-)

  2. Hi there! I work in healthcare, but I blog about design (home/graphic/interior/etc.). Do I qualify to link up? This seems like fun! (Found you through the Mitten Wife.) Thanks!

    1. Absolutely! Please link up:-) We have bloggers with a wide variety of interests and they write about all sorts of things. The only requirement is that you have some connection with medicine/healthcare - which you do. So you qualify. And it is fun!

  3. Sounds like you were SUPER productive this past weekend. Way to go.....this gives me a little more motivation to tackle my Monday cleaning.... thanks for letting me participate in another Medical Monday! {I tried auto posting @ 12 and for some reason it didn't work :(, but I just noticed and fixed that} Here's to productivity!

    1. Glad you were able to get it worked out and thanks for co-hosting with us this month!

  4. Thanks for saying hi on my blog! :) 11 days to match up but we will be staying in the same state as all his interviews ended up that way. We hope for the one we both liked the most, of course. :D As for grounding yourself..I'm glad it worked out. I'm a horrible procrastinator but yesterday I wrote the most words in a day for my novel since last November. Yay for getting things done! :) Have a great day!

    1. Feels good getting things done and congratulations on writing. I am thinking writing a novel would be a great way to get through the medial school and residency years and beyond. I love British period dramas/romances so I am cheering for you!

  5. Yes, very productive!!

Dropped by to say hi via the MMH!

    Ray Doc Wife

    1. Oh my, your pasta recipe today looks amazing.... I love creamy pasta dishes. And bacon:-) Thanks for linking up with us today!

  6. That sounds like a lot of wonderful productiveness!
I was on vacation last week and I managed to get a ton of stuff done. It always feels good when you look back and say it is done or what have you, but at the time, it seems like half of it is the last thing you want to do!

    1. Half! Most of it was "the last thing" I wanted to do, which is why it still wasn't done:-) But it does feel good to have it behind me. Now I can work on amassing more things to do that I don't want to do right now. I have a gift for procrastination!

  7. Thanks again for another Medical Mondays!

...thinking I need to take a page out of your book and ground myself, too. Preparing for medicine and for residency applications this fall doesn't exactly happen on its own...

    1. I am thinking of grounding myself on a regular basis, it was nice to break out of the rut and do something different (and uber-productive). I couldn't keep that up for ever, but every now and again would be good.

  8. Thank you so much for commenting and welcoming me to Medical Mondays! I have been following for a while, I just hadn't had time (shocking since I'm in nursing school! :-) ) to post before. I will definitely be participating in the future though. Thanks again!
