Homeless Again

Please excuse my upcoming absence... I am preparing for homelessness.

The place I raved about earlier - not going to happen. Rather, the landlord won't consent to it. Our family is too large and the time is too short. So we are going to rip our family apart. The kids and I living with our family in another state, my DrH living here in medical student housing.

I am really sad. I don't like being away from my DrH that long. He doesn't like it either.

I will most likely miss his graduation. I had visions of us together, all of us, celebrating at his official graduation. Now, it will be him alone - or possible just he and I (if we can swing it).

Things don't ever turn out how you expect.

I am kicking off my long weekend early why we try to find yet another place in another state. I hope we can find something there - I don't think we can live with our family, or apart for long.

  1. Sorry to hear about this set-back! You'll find something and be sure to make it to that graduation! YOU deserve to be there! Treat the rest of the weekend alone as a second honeymoon and enjoy the time by yourselves. That only comes around once in a blue-scrub moon!

  2. I know how you feel. I will probably miss Andy's med school graduation, and there aren't a lot of jobs for me where he is starting residency, so we may be back to a long-distance relationship for a while. Boo.

  3. Yikes. I wish we could help!! I have no idea where you are though. You can camp out here!! We are in the NW... Do you have any friends that would let you hang out in their basement for 3 months. That is a long time, but wow, how hard to live apart for three months! We lived apart between intern year and residency for one month and it was waaaay difficult for my husband and the kids. We were at my in-laws. We did a lot of puzzles. Anyways, I'm so sorry. Let me know if I can help! The huge connection of med school / intern / residency people is pretty powerful! We should be able to find you a temporary place - wherever you are!!
